Situated in the centre of Tetbury, Talboys House was built in the early 1600's by Sir Richard Talboys, a wealthy wool merchant and the high-sheriff of Gloucestershire. He invested large sums of money in India and the new world of America, and the house has continued in the tradition of having an Asian connection.
Tetbury is a beautiful 17th century wool market town with splendid buildings and a truly diverse range of independent shops. Situated in the centre of the town, we are only 20 mins from the M4/M5. Westonbirt Arboretum and the royal residences of Highgrove and Gatcombe are only a short drive away. We are also ideally situated for the Badminton 3 day event.
We are proud to offer warm and informal self catering accommodation in this historic 16th century merchants house, with more than a touch of Indian style.
Whether you are looking for a weekend break or an extended stay, Talboys House could be the perfect location.

The building, which is now home to ‘Artique’, has had many interesting and illustrious characters live within its walls in the years since the days of Talboys. Royalty, paupers and villains have all passed it by - and who knows what wonderful things have been seen through its windows over the years?
We hope that your stay with us will be a unique experience, full of warmth and atmosphere, and within a very special house.
